| A misshapen male figure-as-stringed instrument lying in a rather prone position depicts a kind of closed, penis-obsessed male system. Sadboy Harp, Buttdrum and performance video is an erotically charged set of instruments simultaneously speaking to the symbiotic relationships of (player to instrument) and (a man to his sexual organs). In the video I perform Sadboy Harp as a kind of practice session, dressed in concert black, I play the instrument with various tools: a violin bow, tweezers, a file, chopsticks, a rubber hose.... and other objects. The 25 minute video, displayed behind the objects, is looped. | ||||
